Indiana Jones was originally named Indiana Smith. Steven Spielberg didn't like the name Smith, so George Lucas suggested Jones.
Harrison Ford performed most of his own stunts in the early movies. This included the famous scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark where he swings across a pit of snakes.
The cobra that spits venom at Harrison Ford in Raiders of the Lost Ark was actually real. The snake was trained to spit venom, but it missed Ford's face by a few inches.
Harrison Ford got run over by a plane while filming Raiders of the Lost Ark. The plane was supposed to land just in front of him, but it landed too close and ran over his foot.
Willie Scott, the love interest in Temple of Doom, was named after Steven Spielberg's dog. Spielberg's dog was also named Willie.
Short Round, the young sidekick in Temple of Doom, was actually 10 years old when he filmed the movie. Ke Huy Quan, the actor who played Short Round, lied about his age to get the part.
The Nazi uniforms in The Last Crusade were actually genuine. The filmmakers bought the uniforms from a collector.
A renowned playwright, Tom Stoppard, secretly penned some of the dialogue between Indy and Dr. Henry Jones in The Last Crusade. Stoppard was a fan of the Indiana Jones movies and offered to help with the script.
Harrison Ford's own scar on his chin was written into the script for The Last Crusade. The scar was from a car accident that Ford had in the 1960s.
The actor who played Indiana Jones as a child in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles was River Phoenix. Phoenix went on to have a successful career in Hollywood, but he died of a drug overdose in 1993.

Hold on a sec.

I read that due to that venom spitting snake they installed a glass wall between the snake and Harrison just in case.
Which you can see in the actual film when you look closely to the sand ground.

The venom left the snake indeed - but it just hit the glass wall and not Harrison.
