Betreff: Nylon Whip Material

Ich habe vor ein paar Tagen das "Nylon Snakewhip Tutorial" auf Robby's Page entdeckt und wie das mit mir und Tutorials zum selbermachen nunmal ist, habe ich mir gedacht: "Probier das doch mal aus" Grinsender Smiley

Jetzt habe ich mir das Tutorial eben durchgelesen und meine immernoch, dass ich das hinbekommen könnte. Allerdings ergab sich auch gleich ein Problem:
Wo bekomme ich das Material her? Hilfloser Smiley

Die ball chain bekommt man ja noch im Baumarkt, aber die paracord und sinew sind ein bisschen ein Problem. Bis jetzt habe ich Fallschirmleine (paracord) nur in den Farben oliv und schwarz gefunden und dann auch nicht auf so Rollen, wie man es u.a. in der Gallery sehen kann.

Hat also jemand eine Idee oder einen Shop oder ähnliches, wo man besagtes Zeug beziehen könnte?

This is another one of those things where every whipmaker in the world will give you a different answer and be able to justify it from their experiences …. me where ever possible I think without doubt Jay-el leather dressing is the best I ‘ ve ever used … my second choice is Fieblings Aussie Leather dressing I use this on natural tan leather as I find the Jay-el too rich for natural leather

STOCK WHIP HANDLE FOUNDATIONS

http://www.ecfibreglasssupplies.co.uk/s This is another subject that raises contraversy in the world whip, cane or fiberglass … I use fiberglass because it’s pretty much unbreakable ….. this is as good a place as any to buy fiberglass rod from 10mm is the one you want then build this up to create a taper using paper ….

http://www.franksupply.com/rattan_poles.htmlA few whipmaker still use the traditional method of Tohiti cane as is for 1/.2 plait handles and steel lined and shaved down for full plait handles …. this is an old traditional method and one I do not use because even though a full plait handle has a steel pin inserted if the handle gets trodden on which is easy enough done if your in the park and have a bag of whips then it still crushes the cane, you hear of this happening a lot, tread on a fiberglass handle by mistake And no problem …. if you like to stick with tradition then 20mm cane is what you should be looking for …Nothing wrong with either way but I prefer fiberglass ….

Das nenne ich Hilfe für andere Leute, die in das "Whipmaking" Geschäft einsteigen wollen!
Ich hatte an einige von euch in PMs ja schon geschrieben, dass ihr euch jederzeit an Tony wenden könnt. Das Schöne an einem
"echten" Whipmaker ist eben, dass er nicht nur eine einzige Art von Peitschen machen kann, sondern alle Facetten beherrscht.
Ihr solltet euch ernsthaft überlegen, es mal mit einer Stockwhip von Tony zu versuchen. Fragt Malte, der hat eine...

Meine bekommt jetzt auch einen neuen Fall von Tony. Ich habe es getan! Danke, Robby für deinen Tip. Dann kann ich bald wieder cracken. und Tony nutzt etwas schwerere Nylonfalls, so dass ich keinen aus Leder brauche. Ist ein echt netter Typ, um das mal zu sagen. Also, im "Fall" der Fälle, falls er mal kaputt geht, oder zu kurz wird durch Abschneiden wie in/an meinem Fall.

Das mit dem Lederfall für eine Nylonwhip meinte ich auch speziell für Target cracking. Für "normale" Nutzung
ist der Nylonfall mehr als okay. Aber Tony hat schon Recht... Ein Fall aus etwas schwererem Nylon ist mit Sicherheit
kein Fehler; ganz im Gegenteil. Und ja - Tony ist tatsächlich ein netter Typ Zwinkernder Smiley

Jaja, speziell für's Target. Darüber hatte ich aber auch mit Tony geschrieben. Ich habe ja hin-und herüberlegt, in welche Richtung ich marschieren will. Ich habe so das gefühl, das mich das Target doch sehr reizt. Aber Tony stellt ja auch verschiedene Whips her und es spricht nichts dagegen, mir noch eine weitere, eben vielleicht die Stockwhip für's Üben mal zuzulegen. *freu*

Eine kleine Frage viel mir gerade noch ein Grinsender Smiley

Man hört und ließt immer 6ft, 8ft, 10ft usw als Länge. Aber wo bzw von wo bis wo wird diese Länge gemessen?
Sprich vom Knot bis Ende Cracker, also die absolute Länge, oder wird das Griffstück der der Cracker oder beides nicht mitgezählt?

Kein Problem. Und hier kommt die Antwort:

Bull- und Stockwhips werden unterschiedlich gemessen.
Das hier ist die richtige Messung für eine Bullwhip.

Leider nicht; auch wenn's so aussieht. Das Blld hier zeigte ursprünglich noch die Längenberechnung
für eine Stockwhip und ist etwa sechs Jahre alt. Die meiste Zeit ging für's Raussuchen drauf
