Introducing Indiana Jones International

It's a new day for the Indiana Jones fandom, and Indy's biggest fans are joining forces To unite and organize the Indiana Jones fandom on an international level. Indiana Jones International will support and promote all regional fan groups and individuals expressing their passion for Indiana Jones and enabling them to connect with like-minded fans around the globe. The group will work towards organizing international events including an Indiana Jones celebration. Our aim is to spread awareness of the fandom and of Indiana Jones as a whole, and encourage Disney and Lucasfilm to continuously create new content.

I don‘t need another Facebookgroup sorry. I‘m happy with the ones I have and the bigger the groups the more crap, spam and negativity is in there.

I downsized already a few groups and kept the ones I like and where I stay in touch with the people I like and have things in common with not just to be in there to be in there.

But good luck with establishing the group. 👍🏻

Hi Kevin,
don‘t get me wrong, but don’t you think that there are enough Indiana Jones groups already? I am not sure how fans or the franchise would benefit from having another international group. Please do not get me wrong, I definitely appreciate you reaching out to us and I also applaud your constant commitment when it comes to the Indiana Jones fandom, but I wonder what benefit can be achieved by trying to get „all under one roof“. Do you have a specific goals in terms of what you are trying to achieve by uniting the fandom? I personally think that the language barrier is already one of the biggest problems when trying to unite a fandom globally. But that is just my two cents…

Ich lese oder poste sporadisch bei den Prop Hunters oder Cosplay. Klar gibt es auch allgemeinere Gruppen, aber die sind wie Fab sagt eben schon arg verspammt und oft negativ.

Ich sehe (für mich) zwar keinen großen Nutzen in einer neuen Gruppe, aber auch keinen Schaden. Dafür ist mir Facebook dann nicht wichtig genug. Wenn die Gruppe positiv bleibt und sich vielleicht auf internationale Events focussiert - wegen mir. Aber ich kenne sicher nicht wie Kal und Fab alle spezialisierten Gruppen im Indy Bereich.

I don’t know Kevin,
Usually if you try to unite people you try bringing the under one umbrella by MERGING groups.
Not by creating another one.
Also imagine if I was a new Indy fan and look for a fan group I could join.
Hell, there are already so many out there it is hard to choose from.
As for me I am content with what’s already available and try to grow my roots there.

Ich wusste zwar nicht, dass es so viele sind, finde es aber eigentlich ganz schön, dass man sich aussuchen kann was einen interessiert und dann eben den entprechenden Gruppen beitreten. Viele Bereiche interessieren mich persönlich nicht und einige Menschen in dieser Welt auch nicht. Eine große Gruppe, sofern überhaupt alle beitreten und die üblichen Verdächtigen sind ja eh überall dabei wird eine riesen Müllhalde.

Ich wusste zwar nicht, dass es so viele sind, finde es aber eigentlich ganz schön, dass man sich aussuchen kann was einen interessiert und dann eben den entprechenden Gruppen beitreten. Viele Bereiche interessieren mich persönlich nicht und einige Menschen in dieser Welt auch nicht. Eine große Gruppe, sofern überhaupt alle beitreten und die üblichen Verdächtigen sind ja eh überall dabei wird eine riesen Müllhalde.

Beeindruckende Liste, da zeigt sich mal wieder, wie unterschiedlich Menschen ticken. Ich finde zum Beispiel, eine Cosplay Gruppe reicht, da brauchts keine ToD Cosplay Gruppe. Jede Menge davon ist Mist, teils toxisch oder einfach auf Filmfans ohne weitere Ambitionen zugeschnitten. Eine gut moderierte Gruppe mit Spezialisierung Community/Events/Cosplay, warum nicht? Natürlich macht es wenig Sinn, wenn da der xte Screenrant Artikel gepostet wird, warum Skull (gar nicht so) schlecht ist.

Looks like most people here don’t believe the (idea of another) new group is a good one (even if they don‘t hate the idea). I can see it prosper if consequently moderated and maybe specialized on international cosplay/community events. But should it get flooded with more „Why KotC actually is (not) so bad“ articles it won‘t work. A group for people taking the hobby beyond just watching the movies by meeting, cosplaying or maybe collecting or making props. In my understanding the group is for kinda syncing groups of such people around the world. Can‘t say if it is a group the world desperately needed but would give it a chance.

I‘d watch the group not to miss another event in Gaudix or to know when the small active Italian fan group organizes their first Indy event in Sicily.

Yeah sure we are all hating yet another group. Nicely put thank you Martin and Kevin can translate. Wth? It just makes no sense for some people and everybody who thinks this is a benefit or has fun joining should do so. Just keep making yourself important.
