Damon, hast Du mal überlegt, ne kleine Story zu machen, so in Comicform? 2,3 Seiter.

Betreff: Re: Indyorama
Nun denn. Von gestern und heute:

The chanting echoed through the chamber like a heartbeat. Indy and Peggy crouched behind the stone balustrade, scarcely daring to breathe.
Below them, dozens of Hydra soldiers stood in front of an enormous ring that had, minutes ago, just been black stone. Now it churned like a whirlpool of living fire. Crimson light spilled across the vast chamber, casting long, distorted shadows that seemed to move even when no one did, almost as if there was another reality atop our own, trying to break through.
"We're too late..." Peggy whispered.
Indy didn't answer. The air felt... wrong. Electrified, like it did right before a terrible thunderstorm wreaked havoc. The feeling itensified with each chant. Every instinct Indy possessed screamed that whatever was happening down there violated the laws of nature itself and that they needed to get ouf of here, as far away as possible.
The vortex grew. A deep vibration rolled now through the temple, low enough to be felt more than heard. Dust trickled from the ceiling. Ancient pillars groaned beneath a pressure they had never been built to withstand.
Then something moved. Not outside the portal, but Inside it. A silhouette, far too large. For a single heartbeat, it pressed against the swirling light, as though testing the barrier between two worlds.
Peggy instinctively grabbed Indy's sleeve. "Tell me that's a trick of light."
Indy just shook his head. His eyes never left the vortex. "No trick."
"Whatever this is..." She readied her gun, thumbing the hammer. "We got to stop it."
Indy raised his own revolver. He didn't like what was about to happen. At all. "I don't think even Hydra knows what they're really summoning."
Below, the Red Skull slowly raised both arms.
The chanting reached a fever pitch.
The crimson vortex answered. It pulsed even brighter.
Once.
Twice.
Then... something on the other side reached out.

--------------------------------------------------
----

Indy had almost walked past the skeleton.
The cobwebs had claimed it long ago, blending it so effortlessly into the rest of the catacombs that it was easy to overlook. Time had stripped away everything else, ...except the temptation that had sealed its fate.
Because, judging by the broken jug still resting beside the skeleton's hand, and the coins that had spilled from it and now lay at its feet, this hadn't been a king, or a priest.
This had been another treasure hunter. Another explorer. Someone who had come looking for the same kind of thing - Fortune and Glory -...
...and never made it back out.
Indy remained silent for a long while.
"I hope it was worth the try," he finally said.
Indy didn't consider himself a sentimental man - he had seen too much death for far too many pointless reasons. Yet there were moments like this, when he couldn't ignore the uncomfortable truth: Sooner or later, everyone's luck ran out.
Indy adjusted his fedora and gave the skeleton a brief nod.
"Rest easy," he murmured.
Then he continued deeper into the ruins...
...following exactly the same path that had claimed the man before him.

Unterricht mit Doktor Jones

Before he could continue with the lecture, Deidre raised a finger to ask a question. "But Doctor Jones... how can I ever be certain my theory is correct?"
Indy smiled. He had always liked this one. "You can't, Deidre."
Some students exchanged puzzled looks.
"That's probably archaeology's best-kept secret." He leaned casually against the front desk. "Unlike Doctor Tyree's Philosophy students down the hall, we're wrong... a lot."
A few chuckles rippled through the classroom.
"Go back a hundred years and you'll find entire books that confidently explained civilizations we barely understood. Some of those theories are laughable today. Others were simply... incomplete."
He picked up an old pottery shard from his desk.
"This is a fact."
He turned it over.
"Saying it belonged to a priest... that's a hypothesis."
He casually flipped it into the air and caught it again.
"Saying it proves an ancient kingdom worshipped the moon... that's a much bigger hypothesis."
He placed the shard back on the desk. "Good archaeologists don't fall in love with their own conclusions. Like detectives working on a crime, we follow the evidence wherever it leads... even if it proves us wrong. The only difference is... our witnesses are all long dead.."
The room had gone completely silent.
"And that's why," Indy said with a faint smile, "real archaeology is a lot less about digging... and a lot more about reading."
A student in the back raised an eyebrow. "So all those adventures we keep hearing about...?"
Indy couldn't help but grin. "They're what happens when the library closes."

Vielen lieben Dank, MichaelSop. Das ist ein schönes Kompliment. Nehme ich gerne an

Das heutige Bild zeigt, dass Indy auch außerhalb des Klassenraumes gerne Lektionen erteilt.

The heavy rain had covered Indy's approach, muffling every footstep and blending him with the shadows.
It had almost been enough to make it to the warehouse, where they stored the artifact. Almost.
He must have gotten too close to one of the patrols. The Soldier caught a glimpse of movement, spun around, and charged without hesitation.
Indy didn't bother reaching for his revolver.
Ammo ran out.
Fists didn't.
His punch connected with a satisfying crack, snapping the soldier's head sideways. Water mixed with blood exploded from the man's helmet as he staggered backward, collapsing on the wet pavement.
It made the pain that shot through Indy's knuckles almost worth it.
The moment of triumph didn't last.
Steps splashed behind him - another soldier had caught of the fight and was already rushing toward him.
Indy rolled his shoulders with a tired sigh. "That's the annoying thing about fascists..." he muttered, "...there's always another one."
He turned to face his enemy...
...and stared straight into the glowing muzzle of an energy rifle, aiming directly at his midsection. Before he could do anything, the soldier pulled the trigger... and looked just as surprised as the flinching Indy did, when nothing happened. The weapon merely emitted an almost pitiful sputter before shutting down. The soldier grunted. Surprise was replaced with annoyance, as the soldier bashed his fist against the energy chamber of his weapon and squeezed the trigger again. Still nothing. A malfunction. Must have been the rain.
Indy grinned. "See?", he said, raising his fists. "No jamming with these."
For all their armored soldiers, automatic machines and experimental weapons, there was still something to be said about a good old right hook.
Indy stepped toward the puzzled soldier.
Time to teach him about the old-fashioned way.

The beams of their flashlights danced across the old walls of the catacomb, trying their best to cut through the oppressive darkness. Neither Helena, nor Indy had said anything for a while, the only sound came from their own footsteps, as if they didn't dare to disturb the dead. Or maybe they were just trying to conserve energy. At least, if he was honest with himself, Indy did. And even that only helped so much.
Slowly, he stopped, his breath coming hard.
Helena stopped too, looking back at him, a flash of concern in her eyes. "Everything all right?"
He nodded. "Just need a minute... to think."
A grin spread across her face. "Ah. Is that what we're calling it?"
Indy didn't bother answering. He took the map out of his satchel and tried to find out where they were.
Helena smiled wickedly. She lifted the flashlight beneath her chin, casting long, ghostly shadows across her face. "You know what they say about places like this?"
Indy didn't bother looking up. "That they are full of traps?"
"No." She leaned closer and lowered her voice to a low ominous whisper, "That the ghosts always eat the older one first."
"Wombat..."
"Dry Bones. Less chewy."
Without missing a beat, Indy sighed. "I'm seventy-two years old. I've fought Nazis, cultists, grave robbers... even giant snakes." A pause. "And yet, the biggest bane in my life is my goddaughter of all people."
"So...", Helena grinned "you are saying I'm special?"
Indy finally looked at her. "I'm saying if you don't stop doing that with the flashlight, I'm leaving you in this labyrinth. Point it over here instead. I'd like to read this map."
She did as asked, chuckling.
Then, somewhere deep within the darkness ahead...
...something moved with a low, hollow rumble.
Helena's smile vanished. "That... wasn't me."
Indy folded the map and slipped it back into his satchel. "No."
Helena stared into the darkness. "Do you think it is a ghost?"
Indy shrugged as he reached for his revolver. "If it is, I'll make sure it won't eat any of us." He glanced at her. "Not even you. Come on."

"Cairo," Sallah said proudly, spreading his arms across the endless sea of rooftops. "A hellish city... and paradise on Earth."
Indy leaned against the balcony, smiling. "Still smells the same."
"Dust?"
"Camels."
Sallah laughed so heartily that pigeons scattered from a nearby rooftop. Indy had been welcomed into Sallah’s house as if only a matter of weeks had passed since they last met. But it had been years. Even so, Sallah had changed very little. The same intelligent eyes in the brown face, the same energetic cheerfulness, the hospitable warmth. "It is good to see you again, my friend.", he said.
"It really is."
For a brief moment, neither of them spoke, just enjoying the comfort of each others company. Finally, Sallah's smile faded. "So... what impossible thing are we looking for this time?"
Indy reached into his pocket and unfolded a weathered sketch. "The Tablet of Thoth."
Sallah's eyebrows rose. "Oh."
"There are only rumors," Indy admitted. "A dealer claims it surfaced a few weeks ago somewhere in Cairo. If he's telling the truth, we've got maybe a day's head start."
"And who else is looking?"
Indy didn't answer immediately.
The silence told Sallah everything. "Competitors?"
Indy nodded.
Sallah sighed deeply. "My friend... one day you will visit Cairo simply for the food and hospitality."
Indy folded the sketch and slipped it back into his pocket. "I keep meaning to."
With a grin, Sallah gestured toward the maze of streets below. "Then let us not waste time and find the greatest archaeological treasure in Egypt, before someone else does." He paused dramatically. "And afterwards..."
"And afterwards?"
Sallah smiled and put his hands on his belly. "Afterwards, we eat!"

Einfach ganz stark!
