Indy and friends first pry open the Well of Souls. They learn there are snakes on the floor of the Well. Simultaneously, the snakes learn there are people arriving above. Harrison Ford crashes to the floor of the Well and locks eyes with a cobra who promptly falls madly in love. Indy has similar feelings. But, realizing the urgency of finding the ark, he ignites his new love on fire. They then share several core lessons to be garnered from the whole debacle.
