Gemessen an dem Erfolg des Filmes ( Mit 2.782,3 Millionen US-Dollar auf Platz Eins laut http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/world/ ) gibt es verschwindend wenige schöne Repliken. Vom Sammeln von Statuen habe ich mich prinzipiell abgewendet und damit bleibt bei Avatar schon nicht mehr viel übrig. Als private Auftragsarbeit habe ich jetzt Neytiri´s Halskette bekommen:  Im Gesamtdisplay sieht das dann so aus:  und hier ein Vergleich mit dem Original:  Handwerklich eine wunderschöne Arbeit, die mein Display definitiv aufwertet! |

Ich habe eben ein review in englisch geschrieben und stelle es der Einfachheit halber mal genauso rein, weil ich mir die Übersetzung gerne sparen möchte Ich hoffe, das ist okay: Well, one year ago I bought a heavily modified Offworld "C" Blaster from a member here on Propsummit.com . Last month I got in contact with proper, since he showed interest in some parts I bought together with my Offworld "C" Blaster. I bought the so-called premium holster, that you can aquire on Phil's holster page for USD $195.00 shipped http://props.steinschneider.com/...r_prem.htm . They're hand made by Karl Derrick ("proper" on the Propsummit) in the UK ( karl@skin-job.com ). this means, the holster is available from Phil and also direct from Karl. The holster arrived today and I wanted to show you some pictures of it. Please excuse the quality of some of the pictures: some general views:     Here you can see the stitching and the stamps on the belt loop:   and some more details:   Finally here are some pictures, how the holster fits the Offworld "C" Blaster:   Some more details:            And 2 last "promo" shots:   As you can see, I have received a simply gorgeous piece of work and Karl is an exceptionally talented artist. He made the internal steel springs after his design. When I first tried to put the blaster into the holster, I was afraid of the blaster being damaged. This was clearly unfounded. The holster fits the Blaster really great and after trying it several times, the Blaster slips into the holster without any hassle. At the same time the internal steel springs hold the Blaster secure and stable in the holster. The colour of the holster looks great and meets the holster`s colour as seen in the movie perfectly. Indeed Karl told me, that the leather is custom dyed for him to match the original colour. The stitching is natural waxed linen thread and they are stitched entirely by hand. The entire holster feels and looks great and I hope this review and the pictures do the absolutely exquisite craftsmanship and leatherwork justice. |
