NYLON v LEATHER
This is one of the debates that has been going on for many many years along with Kangaroo hide vs Cow hide...there really are no right or wrong answers
People know that nylon paracord is quite inexpensive so in turn expect a whip made from it to also be inexpensive, to get a better understanding of why it isn't just think in terms of a plumber, if your central heating breaks down you call a plumber, he charges you by the hour and then aswell as that charges you for any parts that he uses...whipmaking is the same the material is less expensive so the price is not so high but it still takes a good many hours to plait the whips so that has to be charged for...
With regards to performance then the answer is really simple a well made whip will perform and be accurate no matter if it's made from #650 paracord, Cow hid, Kip of first grade Kangaroo, a good whipmaker produces a whip with great weight distribution, balance and taper so that in effect the whip does all the work for you, this is in reality what your paying for, the 8,10,12,16 plait fancy patterns and high bite knots are superficial to performance...
Hope that helps
