Jetzt gibt es mal ein paar Worte seitens LucasArts warum die Next-Gen-Versionen eingestellt wurden:

Für mich hört sich das eindeutig nach dem an, was wir schon gedacht haben: Das Game sollte auf der KotCS-Hypewelle mitreiten, hat sich aber verzögert und dann ist LucasArts davon ausgegangen, dass es die Entwicklung nicht mehr wert wäre. So ein Humbug. Infernal Machine und Emperors Tomb brauchten auch keinen neuen Film um erfolgreich zu sein.
Dann gibt es wieder einige Fragen die den Offiziellen im LucasArts Forum gestellt worden:

7.) It's a story-based game. So, it's rather linear, but there are different ways of handling situations.
8.) It's a separate storyline, and I can't say much because I wouldn't want to spoil it, but you play alongside someone that gave me a grin.
