Auf die Frage ob es angedacht war, Indy in der Vergangenheit zu lassen und ob das Ende mit Re-Shoots geändert wurde, antwortet er:
"We never considered Indy staying in the past. In fact, the final scene w/ him & Marion in the apartment was shot long before we went on location and shot the 3rd Act sequence of the film in Sicily. And the final shot was made in Scotland in the first month of production! HNY!"
