“light of religion”. Al-Musafir means
“the traveler”, a convenient name for
an explorer. His nationality is not
revealed. His manuscript is mentioned
to be “Persian”, but it is not known if
it was his native language.

Dervish was a great poet and
preacher named Mevlana. He lived in
Konya.

The state library in Constantinople
was of very little help (if any) for my
study of the crusaders. As a
christian I was not allowed to visit the
mosque, which the S. Sophia is now.

Konya was a capital of the
Seljuk Turks. From here they
opposed the Crusaders moving along
the Turkish coast toward Palestine.
Thus, it is promising to do further
research here.

Bad luck right now we have better
